IKARUS security.manager is a central management console making the maintenance of antivirus client software less time-consuming. Its user-friendliness and a straightforward and matured distribution of program updates and the latest virus patterns save all network administrators’ time and money. All necessary steps are performed from a single workplace!

Microsoft Active Directory support
- Computer list is automatically generated from the Active Directory
- IKARUS security.manager need not be installed on the Active Directory domain controller, a Domain Member is sufficient
- Manual editing/expansion of the computer list possible
Based on the SQL Server 2005 database
- If no SQL Server is available in the local LAN, SQL Server Express Edition 2005 is installed locally
- If a local SQL Server is available, shared use is possible
- Advantage: Backup Solution for SQL Server are often already present, so only one additional DB is necessary.
- Communication client/server over a definable TCP port

System Requirements

The following minimum requirements must be met to run IKARUS virus.utilities:

Hardware

Intel Pentium or AMD 2-GHz processor or better
1 GB RAM
Screen resolution: 1024 × 768 or better
Required disk space:

- approx. 500 MB for the server (depends on the number of logs and the download-cache size)

- approx. 20 MB for the GUI
Internet connection for downloading software and necessary updates
Microsoft Active Directory (manual addition of PCs to the domain is supported)
MSSQL database (SQL Express is supplied on CD)
