New Member (m/f) for the IKARUS Team of Analysts
We are looking for smart people enjoying new challenges.
In view of 35,000 new unique malware samples surfacing every day, automated analysis has become indispensable. We use ANUBIS, one of the world’s most powerful automated validation systems; however, manual analysis is sometimes still necessary for the really complicated cases. If you are a creative mind and ready to meet the below challenges, we would love to hear from you.
Key Tasks:
- Analyzing viruses, Trojan horses, and malware of any kind
- Analyzing the behavior of malware samples in virtual environments
- Adding signatures of malicious code into our signature database
- Identifying false positives and updating relevant information on our system
- Assuring the quality of our databases and their contents
- Contributing to our list of requirements to tool/program development
- Writing scripts for testing, querying, and administering our databases using scripting languages
Prerequisites
- Excellent knowledge of the Windows operating system: file system, registry, network configuration, security, etc.
- Basic knowledge of a programming language (e.g. C or Java)
- Good knowledge of one or more scripting languages (e.g. Perl or Python)
- Good command of the English language
- Self-motivation and adaptability in acquiring new skills
- Our corporate language is German. Therefore, adequate command of the German language is a prerequisite.
Desirable Skills:
- Computer security
- Network protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, FTP, HTTP, IRC, etc.)
- Program and system analysis using tools such as IDA Pro, PCAP tools, TCP Dump, PET-Dump, etc.
- Assembler and web programming
